What could be better than photographing two people in love? Well, let me tell you….photographing two people in love, one of which you’ve known since she was a little girl, who you’ve watched grow up, and have remained great friends with, even as adults. That’s what! 🙂
Aimee and I grew up dancing together. She was in the “younger” class, I was in the “older”, though we danced together quite a bit. We used to joke that she was my “mini-me”, especially the year we both played “Clara” in the Nutcracker, she the young Clara, and me the older one. She’s been like a little sister to me and I guess I’ve been a sort of mentor to her. So far, our lives have been traveling on a similar course. She’s a Kindergarten teacher, works in Canton, met a boy from Canton, who currently resides in Cincinnati (sound familiar?) and is so excited for her marriage to Nathan.
Aimee has always held a special place in my heart and, needless to say, I was beyond thrilled when my dear friend told me that she was engaged, and totally honored when she asked me to shoot her engagement photos. (Though it didn’t necessarily happen in that order). 😉
I could literally go on and on about this girl…the photos…
I was so excited to hang out with this beautiful couple and get to know Nathan as well. He’s an awesome guy…sweet, kind, loving, funny…perfect for Aim.
Oh, and I should also just come right out and say that I’m REALLY proud of these photos. 🙂 (So, there’s going to be lots of them!)
These photos were taken at the amazing Congress Lake, which is where the reception will be, in May!!
We met at about 6 o’clock on the most perfect evening. The light just kept getting better and better…
Aimee is one of the most talented and incredible teachers I have ever met.
Nathan is a smarty pants and in Med School in at The University of Cincinnati.
They were introduced by Nathan’s aunt, who works in the cafeteria at Aimee’s school.
Quick wardrobe change for some more casual photos (and some of my favs).
Aimee was a teeny bit, um, giggly, it took a few tries to get a “serious face” from her but when I did…wow.
You know how, at Christmas, when you find a really good gift for someone you love, and you just can’t wait to give it to them? This is the feeling I had while preparing these photos, it was SO exciting and definitely one of my favorite parts of photography.
Aimee, Nathan, thank you so much. I had SO much fun hanging out with you two and I think you’re the most adorable couple. Enjoy these next few months of your engagement. I can’t wait for the big day!! Love you both!!
